About the Show

The Ugandan youth have arrived and have begun their collaboration with our own MT Space Young Company. The youth will tell the story of their lives using dance, theatre, drumming and song in a new work called Who Are We When the Red Dust Settles?

The Suubi Fusion Troupe is sponsored by Dream for Uganda, an organization with the aim of enriching the lives of Ugandan youth, providing access to the performing arts program at Cambridge Secondary School, Kyengera in Uganda. The troupe is involved in a whole host of performances and fundraising efforts to support their education and lives back in Uganda. More details on Dream for Uganda: http://dreamforuganda.com/

The MT Space Young Company, a dynamic group of Canadian youth from all over the world, (Somalia, Kenya, Laos, Taiwan, Canada, Sudan, Congo, Ethiopia & Philippines) was received with tears and laughter for the premiere of their first show: Who Is This? at the 2015 IMPACT Festival.

‘Suubi’ means ‘hope’, and the two troupes hope to forge relationships, cross-pollinate skills and stories, and generate an expanded perspective on theatre and social change.

Over the course of just four intensive rehearsal sessions the two groups will transform from complete strangers into creative partners and performers.

Hope you can join us for an incredible show!
