La Razón de las Ofelias was born from the experience that director Tino Fernández had with the schizophrenia of his mother, and of the painful manifestations of this illness. The work shows the distance between an afflicted person and reality, the sudden mood changes, the limited ability to express affection or feelings, and inability to string together logical thoughts. Daily life becomes a wait for the next crisis, and the questions arise: Where do the boats of consciousness go when the voice of reason appears not to reach them? Where is the line between normality and unbalance? Dance, acting, song and music are fused together in this provocative performance.
