Advanced Acting Training and Theatre Creation Workshop with Tunisian Master Fadhel Jaïbi

Dec 5 - Dec 17

Artistic Director of Tunisia’s National Theatre, Fadhel Jaïbi, is one of the greatest masters of theatre in the Arab world. His productions have toured widely around the world for the past 40 years. An outstanding director and teacher, Jaïbi has built a legendary legacy in Tunis and the Arab world.

This December 5th - 17th, MT Space will be hosting a two-week intensive training course in devised theatre creation led by Jaïbi. Participants will be given advanced training and deep understanding of devising innovative theatre through the use of inventive methods that challenge the traditional text-based play-making. Fadhel Jaïbi has a unique method and theatre devising process where he leads actors through a series of exercises in movement, rhythm, storytelling and improvisation. This workshop process centralizes the use of the body, its politics, cultural semiotics and presence within the cultured and politicized space.

Fadhel Jaïbi is a highly influential figure in contemporary Arab theatre. His productions are highly anticipated and followed rigorously by thousands of his loyal audiences in Tunisia and around the world. He is the Artistic Director of Tunisia’s National Theatre.
